President and Chief Executive Officer

Victor L. Lund has served on Teradata’s Board of Directors since 2007 and has served as chair of its Audit Committee. Previously, Lund was the non-executive chairman of the board of DemandTec, Inc., a publicly-held, on-demand applications company, from December 2006 until February 2012.

Prior, Lund was non-executive chairman of the board of Mariner Health Care, Inc., a long-term health care services company, from 2002 to 2004, and he was vice chairman of Albertson’s, Inc. from 1999 to 2002. Lund was also chairman of the board of American Stores Company from 1995 until 1999 and its chief executive officer from 1992 until 1999. During his 22-year career with American Stores, Lund also held many operating executive positions. He also serves as a director of Service Corporation International and has served on a number of publicly-traded company boards, including Del Monte Foods Company and Delta Airlines.

 Stephen Brobst 

Stephen Brobst
Chief Technology Officer

Stephen Brobst is the chief technology officer (CTO) for Teradata Corporation. He is widely regarded as a leading expert in data warehousing and joined the Teradata team in October of 1999. Previously, Brobst successfully launched three start-up companies related to high-end database products and services in the data warehousing and e-business marketplaces.

These businesses included: Tanning Technology Corporation (IPO on NASDAQ), NexTek Solutions (acquired by IBM) and Strategic Technologies & Systems (acquired by NCR).

Brobst also taught graduate courses at Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in both the MBA program at the Sloan School of Management and in the computer science departments of both universities. He received the instructor of the year award for two of his last five years in the MET Computer Science department at Boston University and continues as a frequent guest lecturer at MIT and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Brobst performed Master's and Ph.D. research at MIT, where his dissertation focused on load-balancing and resource allocation for massively parallel computing architectures. He also holds an MBA with joint course and thesis work at the Harvard Business School and the MIT Sloan School of Management. Brobst completed his undergraduate work in electrical engineering and computer science in just three years at University of California, Berkeley, and was awarded the highest honor given to a graduating senior in the College of Engineering (Bechtel Engineering Award). Brobst is an elected member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi, New York Academy of Sciences, University of California, Berkeley Alumni Scholars Association, and the California Scholarship Federation honor societies. He has served as an advisor to the National Academy of Sciences in the area of IT workforce development and also served in Barack Obama’s first term as a member of the President’s Innovation and Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC), a working group of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST).

Stephen Brobst was recently ranked the number four U.S. chief technology officer for 2014. ExecRank screened over 2,500 Chief Technology Officers from among more than 10,000 CTOs in the United States. The top three CTO’s named for 2014 hold positions with Amazon.com, Tesla Motors, and Intel.

Brobst has authored numerous journal and conference papers in the fields of data management and parallel computing environments and is an internationally recognized practitioner in the area of breakthrough systems implementation. He co-authored Building a Data Warehouse for Decision Support, published by Prentice Hall PTR and is working on a book on active data warehousing for the real-time enterprise. He has published dozens of technical articles in Intelligent Enterprise Magazine, The International Journal of High Speed Computing, Communications of the ACM, The Journal of Data Warehousing, Enterprise Systems Journal, DM Review, Database Programming and Design and many others. Brobst has been on the faculty of the Data Warehousing Institute since 1996 and teaches courses related to Real-Time Data Warehousing, High Performance Data Warehouse Design, Data Visualization, and Emerging Technologies in Data Warehousing.

 Saundra Davis

Saundra Davis
Chief Human Resource Officer

Saundra Davis is Teradata’s chief human resource officer, responsible for the company’s talent strategies and programs. In this role she leads a global team of human resource professionals responsible for recruiting, compensation, benefits, equity programs, engagement and retention, and employee relations.

Davis began her professional career with NCR as a financial specialist in the corporate controller’s organization. She transitioned to the human resources organization in 1988 and has experience in the areas of compensation, workforce planning, staffing, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing and global offshoring. During her tenure with NCR, Davis held human resources leadership roles in several divisions including the Americas customer services division, the Systemedia division, and corporate infrastructure.

Davis became the human resources vice president for the Teradata business unit in December 2003 and played an integral part in the human capital transition and the development of the going-forward Teradata global human resources model when Teradata separated from NCR in 2007. Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting focus from Wittenberg University and also holds a master of science in administration from Central Michigan University.

 John Dinning

John Dinning
Chief Transformation Officer

John Dinning is the Chief Transformation Officer for Teradata, reporting to Victor Lund, president and CEO. In this role, John is responsible for leading the company transformation strategy and direction, and oversees action plans to move the organization forward. He is managing efforts to drive broad-reaching change and accelerated performance across the company.

Prior to assuming this role, he was responsible for product management and marketing for the Teradata database, Aster, Hadoop, hardware platforms, UDA middleware, and tools and utilities, in addition to the Teradata Cloud business.

In his previous role as vice president of corporate development, Dinning was responsible for Teradata’s overall corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions. Over this time, Teradata broadened its focus by introducing the platform family.

Prior to holding this post, Dinning was vice president, horizontal solutions and global alliances which included the marketing and business development around Teradata’s customer management, finance and performance management, and demand and supply chain solutions, as well as, leadership of Teradata’s global alliances organization. Dinning joined Teradata in 2000 as a result of the acquisition of campaign management start-up Ceres Integration Solutions where he was responsible for marketing, product management, and software quality engineering.

Dinning has also held management positions in finance, sales and professional services. Additionally, through his management consulting background, Dinning has been engaged in several new product/business development, organization change, and technology introduction projects across several industries including telecommunications, retail, media and entertainment, and transportation.

Dinning is a graduate of the Ivey School of Business with an Honors Business Administration degree, in London, Ontario and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Bob Fair
Chief Operating Officer

Bob Fair leads Teradata Marketing Applications and the corporate functions of marketing, IT services and operations. He is responsible for advancing Teradata’s Integrated Marketing Cloud portfolio, which includes industry-leading solutions in Marketing Resource Management, Campaign Management and Digital Marketing, and he is leading the divestiture of this business.

Fair has extensive management experience in building and growing high-performing global sales and services organizations. Previously, Fair was co-president of Teradata and led the turn-around of the Marketing Applications business. From 2012 to 2015, he was executive vice president (EVP) and chief marketing and information officer for Teradata, with responsibilities for overall strategy including mergers and acquisitions. Fair was EVP, global field operations from 2007 to 2012, where he led a team of sales and consulting professionals – as well as global systems integration partners. Fair also previously served as chief marketing officer for Teradata from 2003 to 2007.

Under Fair’s leadership, Teradata increased market penetration and expanded into new industries and geographies, improved customer satisfaction, and launched new portfolios. Fair also extended Teradata’s solution portfolio by developing and executing Teradata’s acquisition strategy and tripling the size of its ISV partners program, including significant partnerships with major software vendors. Fair started his career in 1984, joining NCR in sales, and progressing through roles of increasing responsibility in sales, sales management and marketing.

 Dan Harrington

Dan Harrington
Executive Vice President, International Region and Global Services

Dan Harrington is executive vice president of global services for Teradata’s Data and Analytics division, and serves as vice president of the division’s international region. He is responsible for organizational alignment and execution to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of business and technology services to clients.

Dan has led organizations in all facets of the business, including sales, services, marketing and engineering. He has held leadership roles including responsibility for Teradata’s entire global services organization including both consulting and support services.

Prior to that, he led Teradata’s customer services organization, and, as head of sales for Teradata Europe, he guided the region through major growth in sales, profitability and new strategic customers. Harrington has held leadership roles in product management and worldwide marketing, where he helped successfully guide the company’s growth in Teradata’s data warehousing and computer business.

Based in Rancho Bernardo, California, Harrington earned a Master’s degree in business management and graduated with distinction from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Angelo State University, graduating summa cum laude.

 Rick Morton

Rick Morton
President, Americas Region

Rick Morton is President, Americas Region, and reports to Victor Lund, the President and Chief Executive Officer, Teradata. In this role, Morton manages field activities for Teradata, is a member of the Teradata leadership team, and he heads up a team of more than 2,500 sales and professional consulting services associates across all industries for the Americas region (U.S., Canada and Caribbean/Latin America).

Rick also plays an active role in the company’s strategy, positioning and messaging. Rick is an influential leader within the company and is viewed as a change agent within the business.

Most recently, in 2013, Rick helped lead Teradata in a global sales operations role where he leveraged his vast field experiences to assist with various strategic initiatives. Rick led various cross-functional initiatives to link changes in the market trends to investment priorities within the R&D and engineering organizations. In this role, Rick also led efforts to discover, replicate and deploy “best practices” across the field sales organizations. He also used his sales and sales leadership experience to mentor and coach key individuals across the organization.

Starting in 2006, Rick served as Vice President of the Financial Services industry organization. Between 2006 and 2012 the Financial Services industry team grew from $150m to a $500m to become the largest sales organization within Teradata. During Rick’s tenure with the Financial Services team the business delivered a 20% CAGR in spite of the global credit crisis in 2008.

Prior to 2006, Rick was a Solution Vice President where he was responsible for the sales and services business in the central region of the US. After a successful tenure in that role, Rick was appointed as the Vice President of the National Accounts Division in 2002 where he grew the business from $85m to $160m during his tenure.

Rick began his career with NCR in 1983 as a project manager. He progressed through the professional services ranks until he became the VP of the Professional Services Division in 1996. During his tenure in Professional Services, Rick led the evolution of the business from a system engineering support group to an influential consulting services organization. This change positioned PS as a strategic asset and fueled significant growth in the consulting business as well as the down-stream product results.

Laura Nyquist

Laura Nyquist serves as general counsel for Teradata Corporation. In this role, Nyquist is a member of the Teradata leadership team reporting to Victor Lund, president and chief executive officer of Teradata. Previously, she was deputy general counsel for NCR Corporation and also chief counsel for the company’s Financial Solutions Division.

Nyquist earlier served as vice president of corporate affairs and secretary to NCR’s board of directors. She also held the position of chief privacy officer for NCR, coordinating the company’s privacy programs. In January 2007, NCR announced its intent to spin-off Teradata, and Nyquist was appointed General Counsel for the post-spin Teradata Corporation.

Nyquist began her NCR career in 1986 as an attorney in the corporate law section of the company’s law department, holding a number of positions. She was named to head that group in 1992 with responsibility for providing legal expertise in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, securities, financing and export controls.

Before joining NCR, Nyquist was an attorney in private practice in Minneapolis, and began her law career as an attorney with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.

Nyquist received her law degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. She is currently active in the Dayton arts community, chairing Dayton’s Culture Works Board of Directors.

 Oliver Ratzesberger

Prior to this appointment, Ratzesberger led the software teams for Teradata Labs, including the Teradata Database, Aster, Client tools, and Viewpoint as well as Hadoop integration. Joining Teradata in early 2013, Ratzesberger has a powerful and impressive background in leading big data analytics initiatives and technology transformation for Fortune 500 organizations. For example, Oliver drove a large analytics effort to consolidate systems into a newly redesigned Unified Data Architecture. He has a successful background in driving analytics culture and advancing the value of high-volume and high-velocity analytics solutions. Ratzesberger spent seven years at eBay, where he was responsible for its data warehouse and big data platforms. During his tenure at eBay, he led eBay’s expansion of analytics and was responsible for the co-development of the Extreme Data Appliance as part of eBay's Singularity project, leading Hadoop engineering teams and driving the integration of Teradata and Hadoop. Prior to eBay, Ratzesberger worked for startups in software development and IT. In addition he has an extensive background in Open Source software development and has been an active contributor and committer to various projects. In 1996, Ratzesberger joined NCR Corporation as a senior consultant for data warehousing in Vienna, Austria – and in 1999 moved to Orange County, CA where he led professional service engagements for Telecom and eBusiness. As director of professional services, he was responsible for projects at Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile, eBay, and Excite, among others. Ratzesberger earned his engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from HTL Steyr in Austria. He lives in San Diego with his wife and two daughters.

At the time he joined Teradata, Scheppmann had 20 years of experience as a CFO and more than 10 years in public accounting. He was executive vice president and CFO of Per-Se Technologies, Inc. Scheppmann was executive vice president and CFO for NOVA Information Systems, Inc. from 2000 to 2006 and senior vice president and CFO for Larson-Juhl, Inc. from 1988 to 2000. He held senior auditing positions with Arthur Andersen & Company from 1978 through 1988. He was a member of the board of directors of eResearch Technology, Inc., a publicly-traded biotechnical services and technology company, where he also served as the chair of its audit committee from 2006 - 2012.

Scheppmann grew up in the Midwest and is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater with a bachelor’s degree in business administration - accounting.
